What Are You Thinking???
That is an important question you need to ask yourself throughout the day. According to UCLA’s Laboratory of Neuro Imaging, we have on average 70,000 thoughts per day.
Think about that!!!
To complicate matters, the National Science Foundation’s research found that 80% are negative thoughts and 95% are the same thoughts we had yesterday (repetitive thoughts).
Let us get our brain around those numbers. You and I have 70,000 thoughts per day. Of those 70,000 thoughts, 80% or 56,000 are negative. And 95% or 66,500 are repetitive thoughts.
What are we thinking?
Let us test this theory. What are you thinking at this exact moment? What is your Dominant thought? Is it positive or negative?
When you go to sleep – what is your last thought?
When you wake up – what is your first thought?
Thoughts are Things. Thoughts Impact Everything. For example, when you are running late to work. Your dominant thought is “being late”. Then you hit every red light. Or you are at work on Social Media, worried your boss is going to see you. Well guess what, your boss sees you!!!
The more focus you place on that thought, the more likely it will Become. Focus is nothing more than Energy. You are feeding that Dominant Thought energy to Become.
There is a famous Cherokee story. One day a Tribal Leader was teaching his grandson about life. He said, “there is a fight going on inside each of us between two wolves. One wolf is Evil (negative). He is anger, greed, arrogance, and false pride. The other wolf is Good (positive). He is love, kindness, generosity, and truth.” The grandson thought for a moment and then asked, “which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee replied, “the one you feed the most.”
If you are not happy with your life, ask yourself what are you thinking? Our World is shaped by our Dominate Thought(s).
A method to minimize and silent the negative thoughts in life: STARVE Your Thoughts.
S: Stop – freeze that thought.
T: Target – focus in to identify that exact thought.
A: Analyze – why are you thinking this thought? What is the root cause?
R: Release & Replace – release the negative thought and replace it with a positive empowering thought.
V: Visualize yourself engaged in this new thought. Go beyond thinking to living that new thought.
E: Externalize – create a new habit of thought.
Let us stop feeding our Mind negative (destructive) Thoughts. Take a stand today to feed your Mind positive (empowering) Thoughts.
Remember, be transformed by the renewing of your Mind. It all begins and ends with your Thoughts. Thoughts are Things. Thoughts Impact Everything.
